When you adopt a cat from Atlantis Cat Rescue, your adoption fee covers a small portion of our costs associated with getting a full health and behavioural assesment, desexing, microchipping, up-to-date F3 vaccinations and flea, heartworm and worm treatment. As such, you will be saving money on the costs of this initial care, and you will be getting a happy and healthy cat to spend lots of quality time with.
Due to the responsibility and effort required to care for a pet, adopting a new cat or kitten is a big decision, and we need to be able to match the cat or kitten with a suitable furever home. As such, we do not allow people to adopt a cat or kitten on behalf of someone else. However, this does not prohibit you from offering to pay the adoption fee for a friend or family member who is successfully approved to adopt.
Absolutely! We often have cats who has been surrendered/rescued together, or siblings whom we attempt to adopt to single home. If you already have cats at home, we recommend that you contact your local Council to determine if an additional permit is required to have more than one cat.
We advertise the cats and kittens that are available for adoption on our website (click here to view) and try to update this on a daily basis. We also promote some of the cats who are available via our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram social media pages.
We do not put any of our cats or kittens on “hold” to ensure that they are made available for adoption and can find their furever home as soon as possible. This helps the cats and kittens to settle into their new lives more quickly and provides them with the opportunity to thrive. It also helps us free up capacity to help as many cats and kittens as possible, to reduce the ever-increasing numbers of cats and kittens needing to be saved from shelters and pounds and find their own furever homes.
To apply for adoption of a cat or kitten from Atlantis Cat Rescue, please ensure you a reviewed our Adoption Process through the Adopt a Cat page and then submit an Adoption Expression of Interest Form. If you are determined to be a good potential candidate for adoption of a cat or kitten, one of our adoption team members will contact you within 5-10 business days to discuss the next stages in your adoption processs.
